Benefits: Don't waste time talking about what your product or service is. Tell them what the product or service can do and why it will do it for them.
Features: What specific areas are highlights? What stylish design elements set your product or service apart? Is it a sleek, silver laser light...with a red button to turn on the red laser light? The red button is a feature.
Function: How does your product or service work? What makes the wheels go around? How does it get from Point A to Point B? Is it an automatic or stick shift? Is the gear shifter on the steering wheel or on the floor?
When you begin to see your email marketing campaign as your own window into someone else's world...a window they've given you permission to place in their living room so that they can see you...or what you have to offer them, you begin to fill your window with possibilities. Possibilities that give them choices of better and better ways to solve their problems, to live safer, healthier, happier, more robust lives.
Makes you want to put on your cape, doesn't it? Brandish your sword to take out all their enemies...real or imagined...and help them create the lives they were meant to live. A window to display to the world...how does it feel, Caped Crusader?

Think Different.
What is it that makes someone successful?
Think for a moment what makes one person so successful where others seem
to fail. The rich and famous of this world are born the same as all of us, some
may have a helping hand through their inheritance but just as many start with nothing especially the business entrepeneurs
.
How do they achieve so much when most people struggle just to get by?
The main things that set them apart are self-confidence and determination.
These are skills that can be learned, they are after all just states of mind.
We all have good days and bad ones; the key to personal success is to aim high,
set yourself goals and have the determination to achieve them. You must believe in
yourself and not be put off when the first problem arises and things start to go wrong. Things do
go wrong they always have and always will, the important thing is to work through these problems.
If you can’t fix it now take a step back, have a break and come back to the problem.
Often just doing this and not thinking about the problem brings a solution or at the very least
you will come back to it with a different view and fresh thinking. Have you ever tried to fix
something that you know you can? You spend hours but it just will not go right for some reason.
In frustration you storm off and the next day when you go back to the task, it is so obvious what
you had been doing wrong and in minutes you’ve finished. You are just seeing things
in a different light, from a different angle, with fresh eyes, we all know these expressions but
forget to put them into practice.
So thinking different can be as simple as just “take a step back”
There are of course ways of avoiding a lot of the problems that life brings.
1. Learn from your own mistakes and those of others.
2. If a task is beyond your capabilities get someone else to do it.
3. Think different, “take a step back” and maybe it just is not a problem anymore.
I hope that I have helped to bring you some inspiration. Your journey to success is
just beginning and over the following weeks and months you may find yourself
snowed under with information. I struggled myself when I first started, not knowing
which way to go or what to do first but in time it will all slot into place.

Warning eBay Sellers, £9400 from my Paypal account
The picture is just for window dressing and to make me remember happier days, but the WARNING is for real.
I recently listed a business for sale on eBay and just as the listing was about to end I got a bid. The person bidding had a minus 1 feedback rating which immediately made me suspicious that it was not a serious bid. I contacted eBay as I was concerned I would get charged the commission fee on this substantial listing. I was told so long as I opened and successfully resolved a dispute with the "buyer" (i.e. prove he had not bid with the intention to purchase) that I would not be charged. I contacted the "buyer" and had no response as expected so opened the dispute, He had even marked the item as paid! I then had to wait a few days before I could close the dispute and get credited for the fee which was just over £3400. This I did successfully but my account still showed the fee, another call to eBay and I am assured by the operator the money has been credited and indeed it did then show as a credit in my account.
The next week I get a notification from Paypal and eBay have taken the fee! despite being told this would not happen. Another call to eBay and I am told the fee will be paid back to my Paypal account and I should keep an eye on it.
Nothing has changed by the end of the day so I call them back, a different operator tells me it could take up to 30 days to get my money back!
It just gets worse as the fee has been charged to my credit card (no cash in Paypal account) and now I am going to get a bill for the full amount from my credit card company. So I get on the web and find email addresses for eBay (check out www.Screw-Paypal.com for info). Armed with the e-mail addresses on Friday I write to all of them to complain.
Monday and nothing not 1 reply, shows how much they care! Back on the phone and I ask for a manager (always do this first not last like I did), she was very helpful and I am now keeping my fingers crossed that I will get refunded to my Paypal account a bit quicker, but no guarantees.
So a quick call to my credit card and they are very understanding and I should not get charged any interest as they agree to freeze the payment until it can be repaid.
So let this be a warning, if you list a high value item on eBay and some idiot bids on it who has no intention of purchasing you will get billed for the fee. I still do not understand how they can take the money after the credit has been confirmed, but that is how they work. They have my money sat in their bank account for up to 30 days and I am left trying to sort it out.
I was also told by the first eBay operator that the person who bid was "not the kind of person we need on eBay" and that his account would be investigated and likely closed. Yes you guessed right, he still has his account and has already NOT BOUGHT an item from another seller. You can't even leave bad feedback anymore as a seller!
Be careful out there!

How are you at Writing Headlines
If you are like me you will no doubt struggle writing headlines for your advertising and marketing.
I recently attended a very useful seminar on this very topic and picked up some great tips.
As I am writing this off the top of my head I realise how difficult it is to remember the rules that apply to writing great headlines.
So I will consult my notes before I add any more - meaning the next part will be added and edited later, this is all part of the solution.
If you live in the UK I can highly recommend business link for their services including free to attend seminars - they have many of these throughout the year and all over the country - look out for the Internet marketing related seminars in your area.
So when writing headlines follow these rules-
It should be clear in a few seconds to catch attention-
Keep it concise- edit it down-
Make it compelling, what does the reader want and need-
Structure- make it flow from one paragraph to the next-
Keep the paragraphs short, 25 to 30 words are best-
Use dashes not commas- as here
So the next thing is to practice just start writting and see how you go, you may be suprised how easy it comes to you, write as if telling a friend the message you want to get across. Of course you can cheat by using headline writing software, I have recently aquired such a programmme with re-sale rights so watch this space I will be making it available soon.
